Balcan Innovations Announces Investment in Added Manufacturing Capacity for Balcan Packaging, Plastixx, and NELMAR

The newest 10-color MIRAFLEX II will be operational in February 2025, joining an existing fleet of W&H printing presses at the company’s Terrebonne facility. With best-in-class line speeds and built-in PDF inspection technology, the CI flexographic press bolsters Balcan Packaging, Plastixx FFS Technologies (Plastixx), and NELMAR Security Packaging Systems’ high-definition print capabilities and is poised to increase the company’s Terrebonne-based printing capacity by 40%. “This latest round of investments reflects our long-term vision of continued growth and our unwavering commitment to delivering the highest quality products and service to our customers,” stated Michelle Wilson, Balcan Innovations’ Chief Commercial Officer.

The newest POLYTEX will be strategically located at the company’s Pleasant Prairie (Wisconsin) facility and will be operational in May 2025. The state-of-the-art tuber is set to increase overall FFS tubing capacity by over 50% and expand the company’s redundant manufacturing in the US and Canada. “With the addition of the POLYTEX in Wisconsin, Balcan Packaging and Plastixx will now have duplicate extrusion, printing, and tubing capabilities with the same cutting-edge W&H machinery across multiple plants,” added Wilson. “We’re excited to offer our customers an added level of agility – and risk mitigation – to manufacture our full lineup of FFS tubing out of both facilities.”
