Capex & Indirects Purchasing Leader

Balcan Innovations is a leading North American manufacturer of technical films, flexible packaging, and reflective insulation with five brands at its core: Balcan Packaging, Plastixx FFS Technologies, NELMAR Security Packaging Systems, rFoil, and Reflectix.

This position's fundamental purpose is to secure equipment and services as required by business unit across the network, ensure supply assurance at best value, manage suppliers’ relationship, and improve the overall purchasing processes.

• Initiate RFPs and analyze results
• Develop sourcing strategies based on needs, market conditions, and future demand growth
• Manager the PO process, ensure the appropriate follow-up, and ensure full reception (quality and schedule).
• Initiate RFQ process for services and equipment.
• Identify and compare suppliers in terms of pricing, quality, delivery delay and dependability to optimize the costs and make the appropriate recommendations aligned with the needs of all stakeholders
• Meet with suppliers, negotiate prices, discounts, credit, and transportation terms.
• Work in close collaboration with finance to provide all the necessary information for financial planning and accounts payable.
• Act as the single point contact for local suppliers and issue PO’s for all local purchases. Manage the call-offs of “globally” sourced materials against specific site needs.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related industry
• 3- 5 years of experience in manufacturing and sourcing/supply chain, preferably in Indirects and Capex fields.
• Demonstrated track records in managing such spend pools and delivering tangible business results.
• Capability to manage through influence
• Advanced analytical skills and attention to details
• Comfortable working with all levels within the organization.
• Ability to question the status quo and be a strong communicator.
• Strong organizational and planning skills and able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong negotiations skills
